This has worked on every laptop that I've serviced, even new models. However, if a drive is protected at a bios level, for security, you cannot unlock the drive (this is put into place in case the drive is stolen).

try restarting the computer in safe mode or try login bios menu using F2 and reset the bios if you have any other issue in computer that can be fixed doing the normal reset . try this post how to reset the computer password and settings see if that works for you .
I wanted remove the bios password so I entered old password and and left 2rows blank and saved it...now it's again asking bios password and old password is not working...I didn't set any password but it's asking...pls help me 2ff7e9595c
