To access Deadpool's story missions you must first complete the "Spidermaaaans" story mission and see Spider-Man unmasked in the Abbey during the base game's first act.
Deadpool's storyline is separate from the events of the main game, but once you beat the new "A Man of Culture" mission and he joins the Midnight Suns, you're free to include him when assembling a team for any mission. Set in the darker, supernatural side of the Marvel Universe, Marvel's Midnight Suns is a tactical role-playing game that blends rich storytelling and relationship building with a revolutionary card-based combat system. As the Hunter, the only hero ever to have defeated Lilith eons ago, you get to fight alongside and forge friendships with Blade, Doctor Strange, Nico Minoru, and Spider-Man, as well as other members of The Avengers, X-Men, and Runaways.
Turn-based tactical missions fought on constantly changing battlefields require you to think strategically every step of the way. Whether you're repositioning one of your heroes, playing one of their unique ability cards, or looking for opportunities to use the environment to your advantage, every decision counts. The choices you make when hanging out and chatting with other heroes in and around the Abbey between missions also have consequences, as befriending heroes is a great way to unlock powerful combo abilities and passive bonuses that come into play when you fight alongside them.
The videos below highlight each hero's signature abilities as well as some of the ways those abilities can be upgraded as you progress through the game. Any trio of heroes can be viable, but these videos are a great resource if you're wondering how to best build a team that highlights your favorite heroes or suits your preferred play style.
Hulk is shown for the first time after being revealed as the 13th (late-game unlockable) hero on the base game's Midnight Suns roster, and Creative Director Jake Solomon attempts to beat a tactical mission on the hardest of Marvel's Midnight Suns' eight difficulty settings.
Members of the Firaxis development team share a first look at some of the activities you can enjoy when you're not battling Lilith's demonic forces. Also, Senior Franchise Producer Garth DeAngelis almost gets beaten at his own game while playing through one of three very different tactical missions.
Join the Firaxis developers for a deep dive into strategic combat as they play through tactical missions and discuss how heroes and their respective ability cards can be upgraded as you progress through the game. Later, Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm are revealed as the four heroes joining the roster in the Season Pass DLC next year.
Moving to a new place and making new friends can be tough, even for a powerful witch like Nico Minoru, whose magic abilities make her a great support character during Marvel's Midnight Suns' Tactical Missions. After being recruited to the Midnight Suns by Caretaker several months before the start of the game, 20-year old Nico was eager to befriend her new teammates. Check out the Nico TV Prequel Short below to see how she fared with Magik, Blade, Ghost Rider, and Scarlet Witch.
"Nico went from her role as leader of the Runaways, taking responsibility for a group of people younger than herself, to becoming the newest and youngest member of the Midnight Suns," explains Firaxis Narrative Lead Zach Bush, who authored all five of the Prequel Shorts. "Though she believed in what they were doing, she was a bit out of her depth and felt out of place prior to the events of Nico TV. By the time you meet her at the start of the game, she is very similar to Nico from the comics."
During a recent live stream, members of the Firaxis development team played through three very different tactical missions featuring card-based combat and shared a first look at some of the activities you can enjoy in Marvel's Midnight Suns when you're not battling against Lilith's demonic forces. Note that some characters and skins featured require unlocking via gameplay.
The other two tactical missions shown included the first reveal of a story mission, the first on-stream Midnight Suns team to include Scarlet Witch, and even an unexpected first look at one of Hydra's deadliest agents. Powerful enemies known as Nest Mothers and the Revenant also made their on-stream debuts, and came dangerously close to beating Garth at his own game on this occasion.

Recently, during the second in a series of live streams planned for the run up to Marvel's Midnight Suns' December 2 launch, members of the Firaxis development team revealed the four Marvel heroes that will be joining the game as Season Pass DLC next year. Creative Director Jake Solomon, Lead Designer Joe Weinhoffer, and Senior Producer Rachel Sima also played through two Tactical Missions while offering insights into the game's turn-based card combat. "Heroism is the resource that your heroes use to unleash their signature and most powerful moves. You earn Heroism by playing less powerful abilities, thus building the capital to unload a pivotal, turn-the-tide onslaught. The best heroes know how to manipulate the battlefield to their advantage, so in addition to using Heroic abilities, you can use Heroism to perform bonus Environmental Attacks that don't spend any of your remaining Card Plays. Your heroes can vault off giant boulders to pound Hydra Mystics into the ground, kick dumpsters at Shadowhounds to send them flying, pull streetlamps down on top of Hydra Commandos - the battlefield is your playground!" 2ff7e9595c
